An electrical connection apparatus comprises parallel spaced conductive pins 6, 7 extending from supporting members 5 and 8, a bank of terminal assemblies 10 mounted in a common support, terminal sockets 11 mounted in the assemblies 10 so as to receive the corresponding pins and fastening means 14 on each terminal socket accessible from the forward side of the associated assembly and operable selectively to lock or release a pin with its associated terminal socket. The pins 6 are connected to the bus-bar 5 but the pins 7 pass through insulation 7A in it and connections to external circuits are made to terminals 9. The assembles 10 can be individually removable from the casing 4 as shown, or can be all mounted in a carrier (Fig. 2, not shown), which may be fitted temporarily with wheels. The terminal sockets each consist of a conductive block (Fig. 3, not shown), formed for receiving the pins and a screw-operated wedge which clamps the pin in the terminal as described in Specification 1,101,082. The assembly 10 may include a switch enabling the required connections to be made between the two pins 6 and 7 after they have been fastened to the terminal sockets. The switch may be arranged to connect a fuse between the pins.</p> |
