The process for preventing thromboembolism of the pulmonary artery comprises endovascular transcutaneous retrograde insertion of the conical device for trapping the emboli with the base of the cone against the direction of blood flow in the region of the iliocaval venous segment. The conical device for trapping the emboli is installed with the aid of the guiding string. The spiral of the conical part of the device is generated by removing the guiding string with accompanying movement of the tubular element towards the place of the final installation of the device.
