TRANSMITTING METHOD AND APPARATUS THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch configuration of preamble of a MIMO system.

SOLUTION: A storage unit 116 stores a preamble signal defined in a conventional system and a preamble signal defined in the MIMO system. A monitoring unit 112 monitors the existence of a communication apparatus corresponding not to the MIMO system but to the conventional system. A transmission channel characteristics acquiring unit 114 derives the characteristics of a radio transmission channel with a receiving apparatus. A selecting unit 110 selects a packet format on the basis of a monitoring result obtained by the monitoring unit 112. The selecting unit 110 further selects the arrangement of an LTS, on the basis of the characteristics of the radio transmission channel derived by the unit 114.
