<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a small array antenna which can be used in a high frequency band of≥1GHz, is wide in scanning range, and is higher in scanning speed than before. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal 23 is charged in the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped, and electrodes 27a and 27b are arranged on two side faces parallel to the zx plane of the rectangular parallelepiped. The two electrodes 27a and 27b are provided with lines, respectively, and an electric circuit is formed so as to apply a variably controllable voltage V2 between both of the electrodes. A grounding plate 26 is kept at a gorunding electrode (Ov). A wide width part 211a and a wide width part 211b are also connected with nearly similar lines, and each potential of them can be set variably to a desired voltage V1. Potentials of the wide width part 211 of a main line 21a and the wid width part 211b of a main line 21b are set to be the same values (V1) in any unit pattern 20 by using a circuit equivalent to the electric circuit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
