396,391. Luminous posts. BREMER, W., 35, Heidebang, Stadtwald, and FABER, F., 62, Holsterhauserstrasse, both in Essen, Germany. Feb. 1, 1932, No. 3022. Convention date, Feb. 2, 1931. [Class 3 (ii).] A traffic-signal post is formed hollow and circumferentially continuous of glass, reinforced glass, coloured or frosted glass or transparent rubber, with illuminating means within the post. The post 13 is fixed to a pedestal 10 by means of a screwed rod 15 and cap 14 with rubber washers interposed between the cap and the post and the pedestal and the post. The rod is hollow and carries the lamps 16 with the cable. The post may be formed of circumferentially-continuous superposed sections 13, Fig. 5, and the lamps may be placed only in hollows at the top and bottom of the post instead of throughout its length, in which case the post is of massive construction with only a narrow aperture internally. |
