PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle toy which can be used as a teaching aid to support children's understanding of a vehicle which efficiently runs by combining a plurality of energy sources. SOLUTION: The vehicle toy 1 has a vehicle body 2, running members 3, an electric motor 4 to drive the running members 3, a first power supply 5, a second power supply 6, a rail 8 generally following the direction of advance of the vehicle body 2, and a moving body 12 to move back and forth on the rail 8. When the moving body 12 is at one end 9 of the rail, the first power supply 5 and the electric motor 4 are connected and the second power supply 6 and the electric motor 4 are connected when the moving body 12 is at the other end 10 of the rail.
