A display unit displays two or more symbol columns. A storage unit stores a symbol column table which matches the symbol column types with random numbers, as well as a pay table which matches prizes with symbol arrangements. An arrangement type lottery unit retrieves a symbol column type corresponding to a given random number or a given combination of random numbers from the symbol column table. A winning determination unit performs an internal lottery process, based on the symbol column type retrieved by the arrangement type lottery unit, and thereby determines a final symbol arrangement to be displayed by the display unit, and a prize to be awarded to a player. A display control unit controls the display unit, and provides a display of moving and stopped symbols by using the symbol column type retrieved by the arrangement type lottery unit.
