<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and reliable filter module by simplifying the structure and making manufacturing easy, and to provide a method of manufacturing the filter module. <P>SOLUTION: The filter module 50 composed as a multiplexing/demultiplexing module is provided with a single core optical fiber collimator 51 having a single core optical fiber chip 71 and a dual core optical fiber collimator 52 having a dual core optical fiber chip 72. A wavelength selective reflection film 55 as a filter is provided between facing end faces of rod lenses 53 and 54 which the respective optical fiber collimators 51 and 52 have. Further, a center piece 61 in which the respective rod lenses 53 and 54 are coaxially arranged and integrated is provided on the filter module 50. On the other hand, the respective end faces of the optical fiber chips 71 and 72 are fixed on the end faces of the rod lenses 53 and 54 by adhering and the adhered faces are located outside of the center piece 61. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
