PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focal-plain shutter for camera having shutter blades in which a blade with the largest amount of operation is hard to be greatly deformed or damaged during an operation and at the time of halt even when a plurality of blades are made thin to the same thickness. SOLUTION: A front blade group has three blades 14-16 with the same thickness pivoted by arms 12 and 13, a rear blade group has three blades 19-21 with the same thickness pivoted by arms 17 and 18. As for the rear blade group among them, the blades 19 and 21 are made from polyethylene terephthalate, a blade 20 is made from aluminum alloy and manufactured so that rigidity of the blade 20 with the second largest amount of operation becomes larger than the that of the blade 21 with the largest amount of operation.
