PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for improving load resistance characteristic of a single coated optical fiber ribbon. SOLUTION: The coated optical fiber ribbon 20 is structured such that a plurality of primary coated optical fibers 21 are placed in parallel, that a long protective wire 22 having a larger diameter than the primary coated optical fiber is adjacently arranged to one or both sides of the primary coated optical fibers, and that the optical fibers and the protective wires are coated all together with resin. The coated optical fiber ribbon 20 is characterized in that a part of the long protective wires are situated above a line connecting the upper faces of the plurality of primary coated optical fibers and that another part of the long protective wires are situated below a line connecting the lower faces of the plurality of primary coated optical fibers.
