OPTICAL SWITCH AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical switch in which the anodes of a first substrate furnished with an optical fiber and a second substrate where an actuator part with a movable mirror part is formed are easily connected. SOLUTION: The optical switch is composed of the first substrate having an optical waveguide layer having at least a plurality of optical paths in which light propagates, and the second substrate in which the actuator part furnished with a movable mirror part which changes the optical path in which the light propagates among the plurality of the optical paths is formed. A glass film including alkaline metal is formed on the surface or in the surface part of the optical waveguide layer of the first substrate and the anodes of the first substrate and the second substrate are connected. The connected part of the anode of the respective substrates is an outer edge part and the plane-contact part of the second substrate except the anode which is made contact with the first substrate has a recessed part lower than the anode-connection part.
