PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for stably producing methylenedisulfonyl chloride and derivatives of the same in high yield. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the method for producing methylenedisulfonyl chloride and its derivative by reacting a carboxylic acid expressed by formula (1) with a chlorosulfonic acid and phosphoryl trichloride, wherein the charging ratio of the phosphoryl trichloride to the carboxylic acid is set at 3.0-6.0.
