Cardiac motion is automatically characterized (28) based on spatial relationship to health. A classifier is trained for the characterization of cardiac motion. Regional wall motion abnormality assessment (28) may be improved by combining information from neighboring segments (S). The structure or relationship between different segments (S) and associated probabilities of different spatial locations being abnormal given another segment (S) being abnormal are used for classification.
