SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DISPLAY DEVICE CHARACTERIZATION, CALIBRATION, AND VERIFICATION

This invention is directed to a system and method for (fig.3) creating characterization information from a first display device(fig.3 block 76) that can be transmitted and used by a second display device (fig.3 block 82). Computer readable instructions embodied in a computer readable medium calibrate a first display device (fig.3 block 70), create an ICC colorprofile from said calibration information (fig.3 block 72), storing the ICC color profile and sending the ICC color profile to a second display device for it to use. The calibration or characterization information can also be associated with an image file and sent to a second location for display (fig.3).
