<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recovery method which can reduce manganese oxide in slag produced after having produced ferromanganese or silicon-manganese with a smelting reduction process, at a high reduction rate, when using the slag in a steelmaking process. <P>SOLUTION: The method for recovering manganese from the slag comprises the steps of: melting the slag 10 added onto molten steel 9 when refining the molten steel in a ladle refining furnace 1 in the steelmaking process under an inert gas atmosphere; reducing the manganese oxide in the slag to recover manganese; and returning it into the molten steel.
