PURPOSE:To quicken control against unevenness of road surface to improve riding comfortability by detecting acceleration exerted on a shock absorber itself with a piezoelectric element, and controlling a variable damping force means according to the detected acceleration. CONSTITUTION:An acceleration sensor 41 pinchedly holding a vibration plate 43 having a piezoelectric element 45 between housings 41a, 41b is received in a space 40 formed over the first piston rod 12 of a shock absorber, and acceleration exerted on the shock absorber is detected. The detected signal of the acceleration sensor 41 is input to a control means ECU. The ECU controls the damping force of the shock absorber by driving a rotary valve 22 according to the input acceleration. By this constitution, correspondence to control of the damping force is quickened and riding comfortability can be improved. |
