PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To deactivate a singlet oxygen in an active oxygen in order to prevent aging of human skin and prevent deterioration of foods. SOLUTION: The deactivator is obtained by dissolving uric acid in water as a saturated aqueous solution or suspending uric acid in a viscous liquid such as glycerol. The singlet oxygen in active oxygen is deactivated by uniformly applying the deactivator to the human skin to prevent aging of the skin. A food, etc., is stored and packaged by using a packaging material obtained by impregnating a packaging material with an aqueous solution of uric acid and drying the impregnated material.
