<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte containing a lithium salt having high solubility to a fire retardant or incombustible solvent such as a fluorine system solvent, and to provide a battery using the electrolyte. <P>SOLUTION: The electrolyte contains a lithium salt represented by a formula (1) and a medium for solving or dispersing the lithium salt. In the formula, Rf<SP>1</SP>and Rf<SP>2</SP>independently represent a perfluoroalkyl group containing ether linkage or not containing ether linkage.
