PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet printer with a volatile material adhesion-preventing function, which can prevent condensation of a volatile material evaporated from an ink droplet stuck onto a medium surface and adhesion of the same to an ink-jet head. SOLUTION: The ink-jet printer is comprised of a heating temperature control means 90 which can hold a differenceΔT (ΔT=T-t) between a temperature T of a platen 20, detected by a second detecting means 80 and a temperature t of the ink-jet head 30, detected by a first detecting means 70, in a predetermined allowable range. Then the heating temperature control means 90 controls not to largely increase a difference between a temperature of a print medium 10 mounted on the platen 20 and the temperature t of the ink-jet head 30, and to continuously hold the difference in a predetermined allowable range in which the volatile material evaporated from the ink droplet does not cause condensation even if it makes contact with a surface of the ink-jet head 30.
