PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle motor in which lubricant fluid is prevented from spreading to the outside of a motor by holding in a hub the lubricant fluid such as oil scattering from the sleeve of a bearing without requiring an extra component. SOLUTION: In the spindle motor where a shaft 25 rotating integrally with a spindle hub 26 is inserted into the bearing hole 40 of a bearing sleeve 30, and the gap between the outer circumferential surface 30b of the shaft 25 and the inner circumferential surface 30a of the bearing hole 40 is filled with lubricant 32, an inner wall 42 opening along the circumferential direction of the hub and surrounding the outer circumference at the open end of the bearing sleeve 30 is formed on the inner surface of the spindle hub 26, and a recess 43 for holding the lubricant 32 scattering from the bearing hole 40 is formed at a position where the inner bottom face 44 of the spindle hub 26 intersects the wall face 42a of the inner wall 42.
