The invention relates to a shelving unit which is characterised in that each of the shelves (1) comprises a rectangular plate which is equipped with an orthohedral box (2) close to each of the corners thereof. The upper and lower ends of the aforementioned boxes (2) are open such as to enable the introduction of a post (3) with a square cross-section. Said post is fixed to the box and retained in place by means of a horizontal pin (4) with a threaded end, which is inserted into a hole (5) provided in the edge (6) of the short side of the shelf and which extends through the post and is screwed into a tubular element (8) that forms part of a section (9) with a rectangular cross-section that is disposed against each of the long sides of the shelf. One of the sides of the aforementioned section (9) is equipped with a pair of L-shaped flanges (10), the smaller arms thereof being inserted into grooves (11) which are provided in the horizontal faces of the shelf and which are parallel to the long sides thereof.
