FIELD: metal continuous casting processes and equipment. ^ SUBSTANCE: band casting machine includes two rotating casting rolls arranged one near another and forming working gap. Casting rolls are provided with envelope. Lateral seals are arranged on end sides of rolls. Metal cast through submerged nozzle between rolls is protected at least with one gaseous medium. Jacket, mainly built-up one, protects rolls along width of their envelopes and their end sides. ^ EFFECT: optimal geometry of casting rolls, metal bath and metallic band at outlet of rolls gap. ^ 10 cl, 4 dwg
