PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gene search apparatus or the like capable of searching for disease-related genes (particularly multifactorial disease-related genes) based upon comprehensive understanding by integrating various combined knowledge in an exhaustive fashion.

SOLUTION: The gene search apparatus 100 obtains document information; creates document vector information based upon information on the frequency of appearance of each piece of word information and weight information about each piece of word information; creates objects by calculating characteristic value information and characteristic vector information on the basis of the KL expansion of an autocorrelation matrix defined according to the document vector information created; calculates information about the similarity among the objects on the basis of the characteristic value information and the characteristic vector information corresponding to each of the objects created; acquires information about the coordinates of each object corresponding to a concept based on the similarity information calculated; calculates information on the distance between the concept and each object on the basis of the coordinate information obtained; and arranges the objects in order according to the distance information calculated.
