<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector having a robust structure which can be surely engaged with and detached from an object to be connected. <P>SOLUTION: When a card 11 is inserted in the card connector 1, statuses are changed from (a) to (c). A cam follower 6 integrally has an actuator 6b and is rotatably held by an eject bar 4. The support end 6b4 of an elastically deforming actuator rides on the support part 10a of a cover. Accordingly, rotational moment in the arrow direction is given to the cam follower, and the tip of the cam follower is guided by a heart cam to reach the status (d). After that, when a finger is detached from the rear end of the card, the status (e) is attained, and the cam follower is locked by the heart cam.
