PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet recording device excellent in throughput and capable of executing recording operation while maintaining high image quality even in the case of elapsing a non-discharge time far shorter than an interval for executing recovery operation such as preliminary discharge in each discharge part of a recording head. SOLUTION: The ink-jet recording device is provided with a first image data preparing means for preparing original image data corresponding to an image to be recorded, a discharge part detecting means for detecting a discharge part, in which a non-discharge state of ink drops continues for a prescribed period of time or longer, to each of a plurality of the discharge parts, and an image data converting means for converting head image date so as to increase the number of times of discharging the ink drops, which are discharged corresponding to the head image data of the original image data after the elapse of the prescribed period of time by the discharge part detected with the discharge part detecting part, compared with the number of times of discharge by the discharge part when the non-discharge state of the ink drops does not continue for the prescribed period of time or longer.
