PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of recording a correct image on a recording medium by positively eliminating factors to affect the image formation by dew condensation on a conveying passage, and forming an image of high image quality. SOLUTION: The image forming device 100 for forming an image on a recording medium F by taking out the recording media F one by one from a recording medium feed unit A with a plurality of recording media F stacked therein comprises a recording medium detection means 63 which is arranged in a vicinity of an image forming unit B in the middle of the conveying passage to detect the conveyance and arrival timing of the recording medium F, a timer 65 to start the counting by receiving the recording medium detection signal from the recording medium detection means 63, and a control unit E to allow a paper sheet part 200 to start the operation to feed the next recording medium F to the conveying passage after the count of the timer 65 started by detecting the recording medium F by the recording medium detection means 63 elapses the predetermined timeΔt according to the size of the recording medium F.
