The method involves plunger core (Tk) and yoke (J) which are displaced along non-changing shifting opening (S1,S2). The closed ferromagnetic field characteristic line (l1,l2) for measurement of non-changing shift opening is discontinued over yoke and plunger core. Change of magnetic resistance in field characteristic line according to measured length (/Idelta d) causes change of inductance. An independent claim is also included for the inductive displacement sensor.
