The composite pieces (2) comprises magnetic steel wire (20) in a thermoplastic matrix material (21). The pieces are maintained in a tunnel (10) at one end and transported gradually towards another end of the tunnel, where the material is collected on an internal wall of the tunnel. The magnetic field of levitation is modulated to cause a jerked movement of the pieces and the magnetic field is applied to heat the wire and the thermoplastic material.
