PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transmission/reception method for a disk device, capable of transmitting/receiving data transferred from an electronic device such as a personal computer to the disk device by reducing a capacity, shortening the time of transmitting/receiving data, and improving convenience concerning data carrying, and an optical disk device. SOLUTION: The data transmission/reception method of the disk device used between the disk device and other electronic devices is characterized in that received data are decompressed (S5 to S6) when the disk device receives data from the other electronic devices (S2 to S4).
