<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for detecting watching state that is capable of detecting watching state to a mobile terminal and a method for estimating watching state. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for detecting watching state includes a transition state model creation means for creating a model of watching state showing the statistical features of time-series changes in observation data based upon information coming from sensors; a transition state pattern storage means for storing the model of watching state; and a real-time transition state determining means for estimating the transition state of watching based upon the model of watching state and/or measurement information coming from the sensors. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
