The invention relates to a method of producing a lined roller comprising a tube (10) and two end pieces (14) which are solidly connected to the tube (10). The inventive method is characterised in that it comprises the following successive steps consisting in: producing the tube (10); forming at least one vent (28) in each end piece, which is intended to vent the air circulating between the tube and said end piece; inserting the end pieces (14) thus prepared in order to connect same solidly to the tube and form a roller; depositing a coating (22) of elastomer material on the roller; heat polymerising the coating with simultaneous exhaust through the at least one vent; and treating the surface of the coating.
