<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems in which difference in the amount of deterioration has a tendency to be enlarged even though apparent image persistence phenomenon is temporarily hardly recognized and a sufficiently long no-use time is required to correct the image persistence phenomenon. <P>SOLUTION: The luminous device, in which a plurality of luminous elements are arranged on a substrate in a matrix manner, is provided with a deterioration amount difference computing section in which deterioration amount difference generated between a correction object pixel and a reference pixel in a first light emitting interval is computed using the deterioration rate derived from the gradation value corresponding to each pixel, a deterioration rate for correction computing section in which deterioration rate for correction required to eliminate the computed deterioration amount difference within a second light emitting interval is computed for every correction object pixel using the deterioration rate of the reference pixel and a gradation value correcting section in which the computed deterioration rate for correction is converted to a corresponding gradation value, and light emission is made from the correction object pixel using the obtained gradation value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
