<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer film which is suitable for image display devices such as a liquid-crystal display device, in which optical anisotropy is small and the film is substantially optically isotropic, optical characteristic is homogenous without unevenness, and preferably the wavelength-dependent optical anisotropy distribution is small. <P>SOLUTION: This polymer film wherein a ratio R (VT/VM) of velocity of width direction VT and velocity of longitudinal direction VM is 1.05-1.50 and an in-plane retardation Re and a thickness-direction retardation Rth satisfy following formula (I). Formula (I) indicates 0≤Re(630)≤10 and ¾Rth(630)¾≤25, wherein Re(λ) is the in-plane retardation of wavelength λ nm (unit : nm), Rth(λ) is the thickness-direction retardation of wavelength λ nm (unit : nm). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
