PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner excellent in filming resistance on a photoreceptor, capable of forming a clear image of high and uniform density with a small toner amount, and capable of achieving miniaturization of an image forming apparatus by miniaturization of a developing device, a developer based on the toner and a developing method using the toner or the developer. SOLUTION: The toner includes at least a binder resin and a colorant and has a predetermined average particle diameter. The developer consists essentially of the toner and an iron oxide.
