<p>A laser beam dump (10) dissipates laser energy. The laser dump (10) includes a cradle (30) for holding the laser (5) and an open cavity lined with a laser energy absorbing materia (23a, 23b, 25a, 25b). Laser emissions (B) are directed from the laser (5) dump cavity (28) where the laser energy is dissipated. Cradle is used during testing a laser emitting a high power laser beam thereby avoiding damage to personnel or equipment. No need for water cooling of the laser beam dump (10) due to the huge surface of the dump cavity (28).</p> |
