PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily realize both signal transmissions by electrical signals and by optical signals. SOLUTION: A semiconductor chip 108 has a first interface 500 for electrical signals and a second interface 600 for optical signals. The first interface 500 has n pieces of interface circuits 500-1 to 500-n, while the second interface 600 has m pieces of interface circuits 600-1 to 600-m. The first interface 500 is used, when signal transmission is performed by electrical signals; while the second interface 600 is used, when signal transmission is performed by optical signals.
