PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a plasma display panel capable of reducing a peak value of a sustaining discharge current without causing brightness variations. SOLUTION: This plasma display panel is provided with a plurality of first electrodes 13 and 12, second electrodes 14 and 15 and third electrodes 16 and 17 arranged adjacently to each other and extending in a first direction, wherein the third electrodes are arranged between the first electrodes and the second electrodes repeatedly executing discharge, and is also provided with a dielectric layer 18 covering the electrodes. The distances between the first electrodes and the second electrodes are nearly constant throughout a whole display area width of the panel; and the distances between the third electrodes, and the first electrodes and the second electrodes are different from one another according to positions in the first direction in the whole display area width of the panel.
