PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a selection assist device of an automatic transmission capable of providing a selective lever operation force characteristic corresponding to a request, and expanding the flexibility of a layout by miniaturization of a selective lever, while enabling range switching operation in fail by the mechanical connection of the selective lever and a selection position-switching device. SOLUTION: Relative displacement of a first rotary part 13 and a second rotary part 17 is set in the vicinity of a midpoint of relative displacement, and an inner cable 43 is changeably installed in an adjusting installation groove 511 so that the allowable both directions become equal.
