PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a renewal method of a passenger conveyor allowing easy and quick mounting with high accuracy of a new mounting component on a passenger conveyor frame. SOLUTION: An existing handrail driving unit is removed, and if necessary, a mounting hole is formed on the passenger conveyor frame 1A on which the existing handrail driving unit is mounted. The passenger conveyor frame 1A forming a truss is provided with an adapter unit 10 serving as a fastening means holding unit for connecting and fixing a handrail driving unit 3 and an idler unit 4 which are carried-in to the place. The outer wall parts of the handrail driving unit 3 and the idler unit 4 are connected and fixed to each other by the adapter unit 10. Also, the handrail driving unit 3 and the idler unit 4 are mounted and fixed to the passenger conveyor frame 1A with a bolt 11a by utilizing holes previously machined on the passenger conveyor frame 1A, or existing holes.
