<p>A filtering device is in the form of a drum filter (2) at least partly immersed in the liquid to be filtered and with its outer wall enclosed in a filter element kept under reduced pressure via a hollow shaft to form a filter cake in the immersed part. The outer wall (4) of the drum filter has a system of cavities and crosswise channels on the edges of which the filter element lies, with openings at the interfaces through which the filtrate passes into the drum filter.</p>
