PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display apparatus and a method of manufacturing the plasma display apparatus, capable of improving the accuracy of the alignment of a plasma display panel and a chassis by using an optical device. SOLUTION: The plasma display apparatus, according to one embodiment, comprises the plasma display panel 10 for producing images and the chassis 50, to which the plasma display panel 10 is mounted. The plasma display panel 10 comprises at least one aligning mark 15 and is attached to a first surface of the chassis 50; the chassis 50 comprises at least one aligning hole 55, corresponding in position to the position of the aligning mark 15 on the plasma display panel; the chassis 50 comprises aluminum and an anti-reflective material. The anti-reflection material is present in the chassis, in an amount ranging from about 12 to about 26 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of aluminum. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
