PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cutting a metal plating optical member by which the deformation and the damage of metal plating are prevented and a high-quality optical member is manufactured. SOLUTION: The method for cutting the metal plating optical member 12 includes a stage for covering the metal plating optical member 12 with cushioning members 14 and 16, a stage for making the metal plating optical member 12 covered with the cushioning members 14 and 16 abut on protector boards 20 and 22 and fixing it thereon, and a stage for cutting the metal plating optical member 12 fixed on the protector boards 20 and 22.
