PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video signal switching device capable of automatically switching between an RGB signal and a YUV (YCbCr) signal in accordance with the connection state of a skirt cable and to provide a reproducing device including the video signal switching device. SOLUTION: When the skirt cable is connected between the reproducing device and a display device, since the No. 16 pin of a skirt jack 11 is terminated by a resistor of 75 ohms, a bipolar transistor 41 is turned on. As a result, a level of a switching detection signal reaches 1.4 V. When no skirt cable is connected between the reproducing device and the display device, since the No. 16 pin of the skirt jack 11 is not terminated, the bipolar transistor 41 is turned off.
