PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation speed detection device capable of accurately detecting instant rotation speed of each cylinder without receiving influence of variation of shapes of pulsers 26 and assembly error and the like. SOLUTION: A state not injecting fuel and not performing combustion is established to eliminate variation between cylinders due to combustion. Pulse interval time of the pulser 26 required in a predetermined period for each cylinder is measured one time or more in this state and n-th approximation formula is calculated from those measurement data. A correction value of the pulser 26 is calculated from a value obtained by the n-th approximation formula and a value measured in each cylinder. Instant rotation speed of each cylinder with correction of variation of the pulsers 26 can be obtained by multiplying actually measured pulse interval time by the correction value. Accurate equalization of instant rotation speed of each cylinder and injection quantity correction between cylinders can be done by using instant rotation speed after correction.
