PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device utilizing induction heating, and using an inverter whose power control width is wide, and restraining higher harmonics so as to allow the simplification of filter structure. SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus, the fixing device is constituted of an inverter device, a zero cross detection means, a gate signal control means, a fixing coil, a fixing sleeve, and a thermistor. Then, many-stage control is made to power from 400W to 1,200W in inverter output 1,200W, and off/on duty control is made to power≤600W therein. The device has a means for fluctuating even a current itself flowing in a low voltage power source in synchronization with the zero cross signal of an input commercial alternating current so as to fluctuate only in the unit of one cycle by inputting a zero cross detection signal as a synchronizing signal and applying the feedback for every zero cross pulse for the switching control feedback of a DC stabilizing power source for supplying the DC power source of the device.
