PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust cover for a ball joint which can be assembled smoothly without using a lubricant or the like. SOLUTION: A gap 42 is provided at an upper end portion of an upper opening section 34 of the dust cover 26 in the axial direction of a ball stud. The size of the gap 42 is set larger than an amount of deformation of an interference 44 caused when the interference 44 moves in the axial direction of the ball stud. As a result, an upper part of the interference which deforms does not make contact with a partner member because the size of the gap is sufficiently large, so that the dust cover can be moved smoothly in the axial direction of the ball stud and also assembled smoothly without using a lubricant or the like. Accordingly, the workability and economical efficiency at the time of mounting the dust cover on the ball stud can be improved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
