<p>The method involves arranging a helical duct (25) within a housing (11), which is closed by end pieces (14, 15). Through-holes (28) are drilled in guide plates (26) using laser beams emitted from a laser device. The plates for guiding the mass to be heated or cooled are supported in the duct by a supporting unit (21). Pipes (23) for heat medium are inserted into the holes and are arranged parallel to a longitudinal axis of the housing.
