An apparatus for use in a system having a gas fuel supply (100) and a combustor (48) includes a fuel actuator (130), a controller (34), and a premixer (49). The controller (34) generates a command signal indicative of actuation sought from the fuel actuator for example in response to pressure variations in the combustor (48) as measured by a sensor (22). The actuator (130) receives gas fuel from the liquid fuel supply and provides liquid fuel at a modulated rate of flow in response to the command signal.
