A pigment dispersant represented by the following general formula (1) is provided: wherein R<SUB>1</SUB>, R<SUB>2</SUB>, R<SUB>3</SUB>, R<SUB>4</SUB>, R<SUB>5</SUB>, R<SUB>6</SUB>, R<SUB>7</SUB>, R<SUB>8</SUB>, R<SUB>9 </SUB>and R<SUB>10 </SUB>each independently is -H, -Cl, -CH<SUB>3</SUB>, -CF<SUB>3</SUB>, -NO<SUB>2</SUB>, -COOCH(CH<SUB>3</SUB>)<SUB>2 </SUB>or -COOCH<SUB>2</SUB>CH<SUB>2</SUB>Cl; R<SUB>11</SUB>, R<SUB>12</SUB>, R<SUB>13 </SUB>and R<SUB>14 </SUB>each independently is -H, -Cl, -CH<SUB>3 </SUB>or -CN; M is one equivalent of a bivalent or trivalent metal; and n is an integer of 1 to 3.
