An antenna selection diversity apparatus wherein when antennas are switched on a frame-by-frame basis, the antenna measurement time can be shortened, and the time in which to select an optimum one of a plurality of antennas being on standby can be shortened. In the apparatus, an antenna selection part (109) gives, according to a selection priority held by an antenna information storage part (108), instructions to an antenna selection switch (104) such that one of three antennas is continuously selected as a current use antenna for an interval of a plurality of frames and one of the two standby antennas is selected as a measuring antenna once every the plurality of frames. When it is consecutively determined a predetermined number of times that the reception level of the current use antenna as measured by a reception level measuring part (107) is smaller than the reception level of the measuring antenna, the antenna selection part (109) gives an instruction to antenna selection switch (104) such that the measuring antenna is selected as a new current use antenna.
